Subwavelength structures have been attracting great intention since two decide ago due to their novel properties which cannot find in nature materials, and novel applications for new generation photonic technology. In this talk, I will present some subwavelength structures for applications in light source, light manipulation and high resolution imaging. I will also introduce our current work on photonic metamaterials which can cover UV-visible-Infrared range, as well as their possible applications for sensing and enhancement of photodetection and emission.
张道华教授简介：
Professor Zhang DH received his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia in 1989. He joined Nanyang Technological University in 1991 as a lecturer and is currently full professor. He was Deputy Head of Microelectronics Division and is currently the Deputy Director, LUMINUS Center of Excellence for semiconductor lighting and Display and Program Director of Photonic Structures and Applications, and Senator of Nanyang Technological University.Professor Zhang’s main research interests are semiconductor materials, devices, photonics and metamaterials. He has successfully completed over 20 research projects，including the first $10M Competitive Research Program (CRP) of NTU as Lead Principal Investigator, and his team published over 200 papers in prestigious journals including Science and Nature Photonics, and generated 10 invention disclosures.
So far, he has published over 420 papers in international journals and conferences, 6 books/proceedings, and 3 book chapters, and also filed 4 patents.
Professor Zhang is the editor and guest editor of 9 international journals, including IEEETransaction on Nanotechnology, Journal of Crystal Growth, and Thin Solid Films. He is in International Advisory Committee of several international conferences including SPIE Photonics Europe on Metamaterials, International Conference on Superlattice, Nanostructures and Nanodevices, and Conference on Optoelectronic and Microelectronic Materials and Devices. He has chaired and co-chaired a number of international conferences. He has been a Fellow of Institute of Physics (FInstP) since 2006 and in the international evaluation panel for Fellow application.
